Order Supplies
Permit Number & Class Information
Go to "Operator Status” on the home page and enter information.
Have another operator run your test for you.
To register or unregister for a class go to IC Training Portal.
Instrument Related
- Hit the “Copy” button
- Enter permit number if asked for it
- Search breath test records by date
- Select test and hit “Print”
Send a written request for a “Data Pack” on department letterhead by mail, fax or email. Include your name and agency, subject’s name, test date, test location and acknowledgement of a secure fax line.
As long as the operator information is correct you can do a forensic correction. Take an ink pen, make the correction(s), initial and date. Do not use white out or scribble through it.
- Is the printer turned on? On/off button is on the front.
- Does it have paper?
- Is there a paper jam?
- Take toner cartridge out and check for paper jam there.
- If none of these are the issue contact ADFS.
- Does the subject smell of alcohol? If yes, remove subject from DMT.
- Has there been cleaning near the DMT? Remove any bucket with cleaning product, hand sanitizer, air fresheners, Lysol, etc.
- Has any remodeling been done in the building? Painting, stripping the floors, waxing floors, glue to lay down carpet.
- ID and remove source. Air out room (turn on a fan, open door/window) wait 10-15 min. and retest.

Ensure the end of the breath hose is free from obstruction.
- Ask subject if they are diabetic. If yes seek medical attention.
- If subject is not diabetic, inquire about the use of inhalants.
- If inhalants are suspected, seek blood draw.
- The DMT allows you to manually type in the information if the card reader is not working.
- Contact ADFS once your test is completed.
The message invalid sample means the instrument detected possible mouth alcohol. When this occurs the instrument forces another 20 minute deprivation period. The instrument will allow you to continue your test when the 20 minute deprivation period is over.
